Description
The AIR Industrial was introduced in the 3rd quarter of 1998, as a wind turbine
capable of resisting the harsh environments that generally accompany mountaintop
repeater sites and off shore platforms. Southwest Windpower's engineers spent
two years in research with companies such as Chevron, Texaco and Cellular One
to design a product capable of reliability producing power for remote sites.
Combining wind and photovoltaics in hybrid systems are quickly becoming the
standard in renewable energy installations. This is due to seasonal fluctuations
of both wind and solar energy resources that make it an ideal combination.
Maintenance-free performance, easy installation, and high output make AIR
Industrial ideal for virtually any remote battery charging application.
Installations range from Alaska to Antarctica.

Without question, AIR has become the number one selling battery charging wind
turbine in the world. AIR brings together advanced brush-less alternator technology,
state-of the-art carbon composite blades, and an elegant cast aluminum body.
Now, AIR Industrial brings a whole new level of sophistication and reliability
to wind turbines. Check out these points:
BLADES: The AIR's blades are made of carbon fiber reinforced composite
that twists as the turbine reaches its rated output. This twisting effect changes
the shape of the blade, causing it to go into stall mode. This limits the RPM
of the alternator, preventing damage in high winds. The Carbon-fiber blades
are resistant to UV, cold, heat and abrasion. If blades are damaged, replacements
can be installed within minutes using two hex wrenches.
ALTERNATOR: The AIR's alternator is optimized to match as close as possible
the energy available in the wind. It is constructed with Neodymium Iron Boron
permanent magnets and is brush-less for superior performance and maintenance-free
operation. The alternator has been strengthened with larger wire to handle anticipated
greater amperage production.
REQUIRED EXTERNAL REGULATION: The AIR Industrial package includes a TRACE
C40 charge diversion load controller allowing you to make the most of the AIR
Industrial's energy production. With a diversion load controller, the excess
energy can be diverted to heat a room thus increasing battery efficiency and
life.
